Team to play Burry Port

Tycroes welcome Specsavers National Two West league leaders Burry Port tomorrow afternoon (Kick Off 2:30pm)

Weather permitting. A pitch inspection will be held at Cae Gelli ahead of our fixture against league leaders Burry Port tomorrow. With Storm Dennis set to batter Wales over the weekend the playing surface will be assessed at 10:30am tomorrow morning to determine whether the game will go ahead.

Any updates will be made via our social media pages and on our official website.

Third place Tycroes will be looking to maintain their excellent recent form, with 6 wins in our last 7 fixtures including an excellent mid-week win in the Towergate WWRU Bowl when we beat a strong and sprightly Carmarthen Athletic side by 18 points to 11.

Tycroes have won 4 out of their last 6 encounters against Burry Port. ‘The Blacks’ did however win the last and most recent meeting, a 5-13 success at Cae Gelli back in March 2019.

Our visitors, Burry Port are runaway leaders in Division 2 West, 18 points ahead of second place Mumbles and 25 points ahead of us in third place. Burry Port are one of just three clubs in the West with a 100% win record, played 15, won 15.

Tycroes, in comparison have won 8 out of their 13 league fixtures this season.

The home side have won their last 3 league matches at Cae Gelli but have not won 4 consecutive league at home since April 2017.

Tycroes make 3 changes to the starting XV that beat Carmarthen Athletic last time out.

Captain Luc Rees wears the No. 15 shirt with Matthew Lemon and Dean Bromham starting in midfield, while half-backs Scott Davies and Aled James continue their partnership.

Up front, the front 5 are retained en block once again. The only change in the pack sees Will Evans come in for Sam Icke at openside flanker.
