Tycroes welcome Carmarthen Athletic in Division Two West this afternoon (KO 2:30pm)
Today we extend a warm welcome back to Cae Gelli to the Players, Committee and Supporters of Carmarthen Athletic Rugby Club. It will be a renewal of old acquaintances for both teams after Tycroes’ spell in Division One West last season.
Injury ravaged Tycroes have made a mixed start to the new season, winning 2 out of the 4 league games so far but remain unbeaten at home. Our visitors this afternoon sit second in the table just 2 points behind early leaders Penclawdd with 3 wins from 3.
Tycroes beat Athletic 17-3 the last time ‘Red & Blacks’ visited Cae Gelli back in April 2017. Tycroes completed a league double that season with a 20-29 victory at Athletic Park in November 2016.
Tycroes again have a number of players sidelined through injury and the strength of the squad will once again be tested.
Scott Bowen starts at Full Back with Shaun Jones reverting to the wing alongside Mikey Hopkins. Dean Bromham also reverts back to his more accustomed Outside Half role and partners Lee Evans. Captain Luc Rees and Elgan Griffiths start in the centre positions..
In the pack Steff Jones wears number 8 with Daryl John and Sion James on the flanks. John James partners Tim Rees in the second row. Ian Mceachran comes in at hooker and packs down with the ‘Arnolds’ Guto and Arthur.
We would like to take this opportunity to gently remind club members, away spectators and all other visitors that the club has a strict NO DOGS allowed policy.
With players & spectators safety in mind, the Committee has banned dogs from the grounds and premises of Tycroes Rugby Football Club. Many Thanks.
