Team to play Fishguard & Goodwick

Tycroes travel West to face Fishguard & Goodwick in Specsavers National Two West tomorrow afternoon (Kick Off 2:30pm) Our first fixture of the New Year and the New Decade.

Fourth place Tycroes will be looking to maintain their excellent recent form and build on their 18-7 win against Pontarddulais last weekend.

Tycroes have won 9 out of their last 12 (75%) encounters against Fishguard & Goodwick. Tomorrow’s hosts have won just 2 and the most recent fixture earlier this season ended in an exciting 36 all draw at Cae Gelli.

Tycroes have also won 3 out their last 4 fixtures at the Seagulls Moor Ground, but were beaten 27-14 on our last visit back in March 2019. Our last victory at the ‘Moor’ was a 14-22 success back in April 2017.

Tycroes have won 5 out of their 9 league fixtures this season. F&G are in 8th position and  have won 4 out of their 8 league fixtures in comparison. Just 4 points separate the two sides in 2 West.

Start 2020 with a bang…Tycroes Rugby have won their first game of the New Year for the last 7 consecutive seasons.

Tycroes first team of the new decade sees 5 changes to the starting XV that beat Pontarddulais last time out.

Full back Aled Rees Jones returns from injury while wing duo Elgan Griffiths & Dan Thomas provide the width. Scott Davies moves to outside half and partners Aled James at halfback.

2 changes up front see Jordan Phillips start at blindside flanker and packs down alongside number 8 Daryl John and openside Will Evans. Luke Stratford starts at loose head replacing Dylan Cooper who drops to the bench. Hugh Conway continues at hooker.
