Tycroes welcome Aberaeron in the WRU National Cup this afternoon (Kick Off 2:00pm) Our last home game before the Christmas break and our last game of the year.
Lets try this one again. Last weeks Cup clash and all Community rugby was postponed as Storm Darragh swept the Country.
Tycroes and Aberaeron meet for the second time this season. Tycroes secured a narrow 26-24 Cae Gelli success in the opening game of the season 12 weeks ago.
Its our first Cup game of the season after receiving a bye in the opening round and awarded a W/O against the Amman in the second round of knockout fixtures.
We have won our last 3 encounters against Aberaeron but have not won a National Cup fixture since beating Pontarddulais in 2017.
Our visitors arrive in fine form and have won all 5 of their away fixtures since their slender league defeat in Tycroes back in September.
The home side have won the last fixture before Christmas in 9 out of the last 11 seasons, only a narrow 12-8 defeat away against Tenby United on December 9th 2017 and a 0-20 home defeat against league leaders and eventual champions St Clears this time last year tarnished the seasonal festivities.
Remember its a Cup encounter so a slightly earlier than normal kick-off (2pm) to allow for any possible extra-time.
There are 6 changes to the side that beat Llandeilo last time out.
Rhys Tench and Cian Trevelyan will resume their half-back pairing. Mike Rees returns on the wing and Elgan Griffiths at centre. Shanun Jones Co-Captains the side.
Steff Thomas starts at loosehead prop alongide Shane Roberts and Rhodri Jones. Ben James returns to partner Tom Cooksey in the second-row. The back-row is unchanged. Number 8 Sion James Co-Captains the side.
